David Tarbrook to be Ordained to the Order of Deacon
14th June 2025
June 14th marks a sacred moment in the life of our diocese, as David Tarbrook from the parish of St Richard Gwyn, encompassing Ruabon, Llangollen, and Chirk — will be ordained to the permanent diaconate by Bishop Peter at
St Mary’s Cathedral, Wrexham.
This step is the fruit of four years of prayer, study, and discernment through the Northern Diaconal Formation Partnership, which serves the Northern Dioceses of our country in preparing men for a life of service to God and His Church.
In answering this call, David walks a path once trodden by his late father, Rev John Tarbrook, who was ordained a deacon in 1980 by Bishop John Aloysius Ward. His journey is a beautiful witness to the enduring gift of vocation passed from one generation to the next.
The ordination will take place on Saturday 14th June at 11:00am, St Mary's Cathedral, Wrexham - and all are warmly invited to gather in prayer and thanksgiving as we celebrate this sacred occasion with David.
As the day approaches, we hold David in our prayers that he may be strengthened in grace and filled with peace as he prepares to offer his life in service.
Let us also pray that others may hear and respond to the quiet, persistent call of God to the permanent diaconate and priesthood.
May this ordination be a moment of hope and renewal for us all.
