Loreto Retreat Centre
Run by the Sisters of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, usually known as Loreto Sisters.
They came to Llandudno in 1919 and ran a boarding and day school for all age groups till 1970. The existing Centre then evolved for the spiritual renewal of the laity in accordance with the Vatican II Council. From 1970-1987 part of the school building was used by the diocese as a middle school, and when this was closed the Hall and classrooms became part of the Retreat House.
More recently, after extensive reconstruction of their premises, the community moved to a new building which is named Loreto House. The old convent site was then refurbished to become the new home for Loreto Centre, now called the Loreto Spirituality Centre.
The Centre is nestled next to the Great Orme in Llandudno, North Wales. They offer an ideal location for those of all religions and none seeking a quiet place for peace, rest and prayer away from the stresses of daily life.
The Centre is available for groups who wish to conduct their own retreat programme, those requiring respite from ministry, and individuals who wish to participate in our organised retreats or enjoy a quiet retreat alone. Please visit their website for more information about the Centre and the retreats and courses they offer.
